Jennifer Lawrence Reacts To Oscar Nomination

Jennifer Lawrence has been hitting the headlines after her second Academy Award nomination for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook. First up is the actress’ official statement:
“I’m so honored and grateful for this nomination and to be in the company of such talented actresses. This was a labor of love that we all poured our hearts into and could not be more thankful to The Weinstein Company and Harvey Weinstein for their unyielding support of the film.”
Lawrence didn’t find out about her recognition immediately because, like every other normal person, she was asleep when it was announced:
“I thought I would wake up, but I didn’t. My parents spent the night at my house, and they came in and kissed me on the forehead and told me about all the nominations for Silver Linings,” Jennifer Lawrence tells THR. “I went into this because of David [O. Russell]. I’ve seen everything he’s ever done. And I was so blown away by Bradley [Cooper] and the rest of the cast.”
If all this sounds just a little too normal for the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, she told EW that when she heard her fellow Silver Linings Playbook actors were also nominated in the other three acting categories (first time this has happened in 31 years) she congratulated her co stars in a way only Jen would:
“When you’re hoping for something and you’re praying and we’re all getting so excited and then it’s even better than you imagined it’s unbelievable…. [The whole cast have] been texting. I just sent them a picture of Obama on a unicorn with a rainbow saying ‘Congratulations.’”
As you do! Speaking about the actual ceremony she promised EW that she wouldn’t be as nervous as her first appearance:
“Last time I was just terrified because it was my introduction into Hollywood pretty much. I was so new and it was so exciting but also really terrifying. And I regretted that by the time it was over, on the very last night, when I was on the red carpet at the Oscars and realized where I was, that I was having fun and until then I was scared. So I just feel like this time I don’t want to make the same mistake.”
And of course, not forgetting the Golden Globes this Sunday, Jennifer told USA Today:
“I’ve thought about how much liquor I’m going to consume on Sunday. Last year, at the Globes, I couldn’t drink. I was like, oh, my God. Hopefully, it will be better this year now that I can drink.”

She has to win, if for no other reason than I really, really, really want to hear her Oscar speech.

@nib: I would pay to see that… that’d be awesome
