RUMOR: Catching Fire Filming in New Jersey?
NorthJersey.com has reported today that film crews spotted this week at Ringwood State Park in northeastern New Jersey might be there to shoot scenes on location for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Larry Ragonese, a spokesman for the state Department of Environmental Protection, said on Thursday that the state film commission gave approval for GSX Productions to film in the park for two days this week.
A source with knowledge of the production confirmed that crews were filming scenes for the highly anticipated sequel, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.”
As several cast members have confirmed that filming for the movie wrapped in Hawaii this past December (and Jennifer Lawrence herself mentioned the possibility of going back to it sometime in March), it’s fair to say if this rumor is true, they were most likely shooting exterior scenes that did not involve the actors.

Update: NorthJersey.com is now reporting that ‘The Idiom’ is the production that filmed in Ringwood last week.
Maybe at the very end sort of like the scene with Snow at the end of the Hunger Games when he’s walking up the stairs, they’re going to have and end scene showing above district 13 or something.
it’s probably for when they pull Katniss out of the Arena, and take Peeta back to the Capitol.

We don’t have to much but it’s really cold so the snow that’s here is staying.
I was just there a couple of hours ago and it was snowing pretty hard, but it’s stopped now. It snows harder up there because it’s more in the mountains.

I like to think it’s an after-credits scene that ends with Coin instead of Snow.

I hope that happens! Like all of a sudden it shows maybe the district 13 symbol and then the people of district 12 and coin. just as the screen turns black Gale says Katniss there is no district 12. I hope that’ s what happens!
Or it could just be a scene with some extras? Or other actors besides JLaw or Josh?
If they show Coin at the end (like Snow showed up in Gamemaker’s control room), people might assume they are related. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.
Its supposed to snow 1-3 inches tonight in new jersey. I live about 15 minutes away from ringwood and i could defintely see it being district 12
Not much snow there at this time(I live in Westchester County NY)- about 35 minutes away. It has been extremely frigid here and they would be able to blow snow though.
Not certain but forecasters predicting a dusting to 2inches today–which is nothing)-and majority of snow expected to fall in Eastern NY(Long Island) and not NJ.

THIS IS SO CLOSE TO WHERE I LIVE! I WANT TO TAKE A DRIVE UP SO BADLY! Are there ANY more details that can be provided? I heard that the park was closed on Friday and they are scouting Tuesday and Wednesday, filming Thursday and Friday with possible extra days.
I want to go so badly I’ve been waiting so long for something like this to happen!

Was just thinking if this is possibly District 13 – wouldn’t it be great if they are scouting the park to use it for filming Mockingjay? With Ringwood Park(NJ) and Bear Mountain State Park(NY) a few minutes away , they might have some great scenery to film for Dustrict 13.

I couldn’t see it having anything to do with Coin—she has no actress. Unless they’re keeping her hidden? I don’t know—but I do think it could have something to do with District 13. Oh well, guess we’ll find out in the theaters!
they COULD be keeping the coin casting news as a surprise, it wouldn’t be the first time something like that happens in movies. i remember hugh jackman’s cameo in x-men: first class was pretty much a complete secret until the very week the movie premiered, when someone tweeted about it and then it was all over the web. when they really set out to surprise the audience, they can find ways to do it.
i mean, obviously there’s no way for us to know until we actually watch the movie– we may just be making a big deal of a couple of scenery shots– but hey, at this point it could be anything.
I would highly dout this due to the fact that they have to edit a lot of movie! I really dout that they are still filming
It would be AMAZING if they did a camera shot at the very end where you see district thirteen underground with everyone in it, and then the camera scrolled up through the ground to show this place! And then the screen goes black and Gale says that epic line:
‘Katniss, there is no district 12′ AHH!
Just thinking about it sends shivers down my spine!

People have seen Josh and Jennifer out there. Josh’ s hair is blond again. I bet they are filming all the winter scenes like out in the woods with Gale. Out in the district with Peeta. It is snowing in New Jersey so I bet it’ s that or what I put in my last comment.
Follow up on my comment. PLEASE BE FILMING THE KISSING SCENE WITH PEETA IN THE DISTRICT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you’re referring to the “tumble in the snow” scene; I actually am not at all emotionally attached to that K-P kiss, because it’s FAKE on Katniss’s part, and that her actions there are almost solely for the cameras. Although I concede that at the end, she notices and appreciates Peeta’s “steadiness”, there is still an element of coercion in that kiss, and I never saw at as this super-romantic moment the way many people seem to.
It seems that (unlike THG), CF is going to be very careful to downplay the fakemance aspect, such as how, according to Josh, while they did film the “proposal scene” they did not actually give him a script for it. So, I really don’t expect this scene to be included.
Hannah-where have u heard that Jenn and Josh have dyed their hair again? Have seen nothing on this-has anyone else?
Also-shouldn’t they both be in LA today? Tonight is the SAG awards presentation.
If they have in fact been filming again in NJ then we will know my their hair color.
Have heard from people in NJ that this seems to be a scenery shot-no actors seen to date. But we can hope!

Hannah- they have confirmed in NJ that Jenn was there filming Friday but they noted that they believe that she was filming an outdoor scene with Liam.
(It has been noted that the scene filmed was a scene from the beginning of CF).
Also confirmed that CF hairstylist flew to NY to do Jenns hair after her talk show appearance and then it looks like Jenn had some highlights and light brown put in for the SAGs—this poor girl needs rest and for her hair to be conditioned from all of the dye jobs!
Just read that Jenn may not be at the SAG awards and also missed another awards show because she has pneumonia. She has probably run herself down due to all these awards shows right after filming.
Hope she gets better soon and rests!
(Wouldn’t it be good if she is actually not ill bit can’t make the SAGs because she is filming over here in NJ?)
