Jennifer Lawrence Talks About Celebrity Status: ‘You Start Feeling Like A Zoo Animal’
In an interview with Daily Mail, Jennifer Lawrence talked about her SAG awards dress, celebrity, and Bradley Cooper.
Her SAG Awards dress :
‘It’s the way the dress was structured,’ sighed the 22-year-old star.
‘It’s a tiered dress, which I didn’t understand until I sat down and saw my thighs through sheer material and thought: “What’s going on?!”
‘So, yeah, that was a surprise — but not a malfunction.’
On being a celebrity :
‘I was concerned people would start talking about the award that I won, and my acting, so I thought I’d pull a stunt just to get things back to where they need to be.’
‘As soon as you become a celebrity, you start feeling like a zoo animal,’ she told me, noting that people start taking photographs and ‘prod at you to get a reaction on video, like you do to monkeys in a cage’.
‘It’s gross,’ she added. ‘People forget about your humanity when you become famous, so I’m not surprised that we’re compared to a horse race.’
Bradley Cooper :
‘I’d do another movie with him in a second,’ she exclaimed.
‘I’m crazy about Bradley, so it’s not really hard to act as though I like him, and love him, in a movie.
‘I don’t know what my performance would have been like if someone else had been cast.’
