Fireside Chat

It’s Monday, so that means it’s time for another episode of Hunger Games Fireside Chat! Join hosts Adam and Savanna and their panelists as they discuss the following topics for the week with Episode 94: The Cut’s Out of the Bag:

- To kick things off, we’ll talk about the decision to cut Bonnie, Twill, and Darius from the film adaptation ofCatching Fire, a change that Francis Lawrence revealed in his interview in Entertainment Weekly’s 2013 preview issue.

- We’ll also talk about Francis Lawrence’s recent interview with MTV, in which he talked about casting Finnick, “honing Haymitch,” and filming the arena scenes.

- In Welcome to District 12′s latest Mockingjay Mock-up, they explore ways in which the series epilogue might be translated from page to screen. They also address the possibility that the epilogue might not be included at all! We’ll share our thoughts on the matter. Please leave us a comment below telling us how you’d feel if the epilogue was NOT included in Mockingjay: Part 2.

- If there’s time remaining, we’ll go grab baggin’.

I think they will show a clip of the children running around or playing, with katniss narrating the text.

They NEED to include the epilogue! And they’ll probably put it because they cut Mockingjay into two parts so they’ll have enough time for it, I think! I imagine it a little like in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. they’d be back in District twelve and we’d see Katniss and Peeta when they’re older with their children! If they don’t put it on, I’LL JUST DIE!

In my opinion , i would die for the epilogue . I would love to see what happens to Gale, Katniss, and Peeta ( even though i have read the epilogue and know what may be seen) . The beed an epilogue to show how Katniss and Peeta’s life end up in the end.please please please make an epilogue scene!!!!!!

They definitely need the epilogue! No question about it. The ending of Mockingjay is not a happy one–the only thing that makes me feel slightly better is Peeta @ Katniss getting together and Katniss finally able to trust and care for someone(even tho it took her a long time to have kids).
It’s also comforting to hear that her offspring are back with them, home in district 12.

If they cut the epilogue, the ending would be soooo depressing! I don’t need all the details but wasn’t the point of making two movies that more details would be included?

    ...Always...

I don’t know but i didn’t like the epilogue that much… although there was a happy end the way I wanted it to be :-)
But they should definitely spend more time on the last pages instead of rushing through it like suzanne did ( you know i was just dissapointed she didn’t give us the chance to see them getting back home and together…they barely talked. everything was just hinted at)
And I don’t know if I’d like to see katniss and peeta when their ‘old’. In Harry Potter and the deathly hallows part 2 it was a bit weird to watch them being made older. Although it looked quite good in the movie.
I don’t mind if they include it or not but I’d be totally happy to see Katniss and Peeta beeing happly ever after :-P
I always imagined them to be together in the meadow at the last scene of the movie. (just the two of them talking and beeing together…finally)

I even can imagine Katniss sings the valley song to their children. Definitely vote for the epilouge.

I have always imagined the epilogue being like this: We hear Katniss singing Rue’s Lullaby. While the song is being sung, we see shots of the Meadow, now filled with flowers. We see children running, their faces lit up with smiles. We see how District 12 has “reinvented” itself. We see a quick glimpse of the book with all of the tributes’ info. in it. The song is close to finishing and we see two children now tucked into bed, their grins fading as they doze off. Then the shot swings “backwards” and we see Katniss and Peeta huddling over their bed, smiling down at their children (which the audience wouldn’t have really known they were their children until now– previously they would’ve just assumed). Then Katniss whispers something to the effect of “Goodnight.’ or “Sweet dreams.” and the screen goes black. Just a quick monologue.

(Can you tell that I’ve previously put some thought into this?!)
