New NECA Catching Fire Merchandise Released at International Toy Fair
Today, at their booth at the American International Toy Fair, NECA unveiled their latest batch of Hunger Games merchandise, this time focused on the Catching Fire book. Among the products featured in this set are card decks, bookmarks, a board game, puzzle, different book/tote bags and, of course, a pin in the shape of the Catching Fire mockingjay.
Also, writer/journalist Tara Bennett was at the event and tweeted about the possibility of NECA releasing some Catching Fire action figures in the near future:

Why a pin? Can’t we stay to the original? Katniss will still were the same – if they don’t the producers are in exteme danger. It’s just another way to grap money from our wallets….

Great but NECA stuff is shockingly poor quality, have bought many THG items from them only to have them break after few uses. Not good at all and very overpriced, but I’m going to have to buy that pin!

I don’t like this pin as much as I do the original pin. This one looks like plastic… You know what would be cool? A replication to be sold of Plutarch’s pocketwatch! I’d definitely buy that! But this pin? I’m not so sure…

Sorry, but not diggin’ the pin. The original pin is the one that actually means something, so people are going to get all confused (because half of them didn’t bother to pick up a book…). And more importantly, I’d much rather see Peeta’s necklace than a cheapy pin that doesn’t even really work with the franchise.
