Amandla Joins the Cast of NBC’s Craig Robinson Comedy Pilot
Great news for Amandla Stenberg fans, the young actress has joined the cast of a new comedy pilot on NBC:
From executive producers Owen Ellickson and Greg Daniels, the untitled comedy pilot centers on Craig (Robinson), a talented musician who adjusts to his new life as a middle school music teacher, where he maneuvers precocious kids, teacher politics and the temptation of single moms.
Stenberg will play Irene, a spunky, fearless and smart eighth grader who is desperate to learn to sing despite her terribly off-key voice and Craig’s reluctance to teach her. Amanda Lund and Larenz Tate co-star.
It’ll certainly be interesting to see Amandla singing so hopefully the pilot episode does well and the series is picked up by NBC.

I hope it gets a green light, though her character sounds a little lame. But that can easily be changed since it’s the beginning on the production. Character development always have the potential to change, especially if the character isn’t what execs like.
It is so easy for me to picture her playing Irene.
Thats great! She’ll be great in that role
