EW’s Fall Movie Preview Issue Reveals More Catching Fire Details
Entertainment Weekly’s Fall Movie Preview issue has already revealed a brand new Catching Fire still of Katniss Everdeen inside a hovercraft– but that’s not all they revealed. Our friends over at Panem Propaganda have scans of the short article on the movie that accompanied this new still, and there are a lot of interesting tidbits for fans ponder on!
For one, director Francis Lawrence reassures us once again that the adaptation will be faithful to the book:
“[He and Lionsgate] were all in agreement of what the movie should be,” [Lawrence] says. “It’s still really Katniss’ story– there are no diversions from her. I wanted to be true to the book, and I didn’t want to reinvent it in any way. It just needed an adaptation.”
The article also mentions that the first third of the book was “trimmed,” reiterates that Bonnie and Twill have been cut, and adds that so was the scene when Katniss jumps the fence and sprains her ankle. They also talk with Sam Claflin about his preparation for the role of Finnick Odair, but this time about his rope-tying prowess! Sam recounts that he “must’ve looked like a crazy person in my hotel room tying a noose constantly.”
There’s a lot more little details hidden in the article so be sure to give it a read! You can see the scans below. Be sure to tell us what you think; speculation is always encouraged.
