Staff VIP Experience at Josh Hutcherson’s Celebrity Basketball Game
I was fortunate enough to be taken to Josh Hutcherson’s Celebrity Basketball Game with the VIP Experience. It was SO much fun! It was last Friday, Aug. 9, 2013. We had to be there by 6:30 so we all could have a one on one meet and greet with Josh before the game. I was first in line. While we stood there Josh was making jokes with the woman who was trying to attach a microphone to him. He has such a great sense of humor. After a few min it was time to go up one by one to say hello and take our photo with him. He gave me a nice strong hand shake and we took a few photos. My favorite one is the one I have posted above. After we had our turn we were told to go and get our seats in the arena that was set up in the middle of LA Live! We were in the front row of the bleachers right in front of the basket. It was a pretty amazing seat. As we were sitting there, they walked around and offered us raffle tickets for $5 each or 5 for $20. We got 10! The prize was the jersey that Josh wore that night. We lost
While the boys were warming up we checked out all the “Straight but not Narrow” merchandise and we each got a t-shirt. Finally it was time for the game to begin. The crowd was getting more and more excited to see not just Josh but all of the other talented men out there on that court. Josh was part of the “Black” team. The game began and I must say, Josh can play well! I was actually surprised at how good all of the men were. However within the first 2 quarters (which were 10 min quarters) the “Black” team was being destroyed by the “White” team. 20 min FLEW by and it was time for the half time show, which was a group of young dancers that were very talented. It was a short half time which was good because it was getting cold outside. The second half started and they put one of the “White” members on the “Black” team, Little Romeo, in hopes that it would help the team come up in their score. It helped a little but not nearly enough, the “White” team ended up winning in the end.
After the game was over Josh came out onto the court with one of the girls from the audience. He announced that he was going to have a “Dance Off” with 2 other team mates and 2 more audience members. They picked the girls from the audience and all took their turns dancing. To be honest, they all actually had dance ability, but of COURSE the audience voted Josh and his dance partner were the “BEST” dancers. The girl Josh was dancing with ended up winning tickets to a Kings game at the Staples Center. That was the conclusion of the game. It was actually very short. An hour and a half total! Well 2 hours with the meet and greet added in there. However it was still an amazing and totally fun experience. If any of you are in LA, PLEASE go next year, it’s so much fun and supports a GREAT cause “Straight but not Narrow”
