Willow Shields, who plays Primrose Everdeen in The Hunger Games films, spoke about her character’s growth across the series with Seventeen. The part really is an awesome one, since Prim grows from a small scared child into a fierce young woman. Read what she has to say below:
Willow is currently filming Mockingjay, which will be released in two parts, and is really excited about Prim’s next steps. “She has matured a lot. She’s now becoming a nurse and her scenes are getting a lot more emotional,” she said.
Having superstar Jennifer Lawrence on set with her definitely helps on that front! One of Willow’s favorite parts of filming is hanging with her on-screen sis. “Having Jen there with me makes things really easy to handle,” she said. “I’ve learned to be able to turn on this sadness and then between scenes totally goof off!” One way they bond is over the animals on set! Buttercup, the Everdeen’s cat, is from an animal trainer in Georgia and she and Jen always play with him and his cat toys in between takes!
