You guys have been great, voting ‘The Hunger Games’ into the final round of MTV’s 2012 Movie Brawl. The movie is now going up against Rob Pattinson’s movie Cosmopolis. Unfortunately, voting results are hidden for this one until the end, so we don’t know whether THG is ahead or behind. Get voting!

Now that 2012 is here, MTV is taking a poll on what people think is the most anticipated movie of 2012 is. Although there is a long list of choices, the poll clearly seems to come down to two main contenders: The Hunger Games and Breaking Dawn 2. You can vote until Sunday, January 8 for the first round.

Seventeen Magazine has posted up a fun poll asking 8 questions about ‘The Hunger Games’. Head on over to their site to vote for things like your favorite Katniss outfit, your favorite Hunger Games trilogy book, and your thoughts on Jennifer’s hair color.

The folks over at Picktainment have chosen their top four anthems in their Panem Anthem Contest and now it’s time to vote for your favorite!

Tributes and Mockingjays only had an 8 vote difference after THOUSANDS of votes, so there’s a runoff! All the fansites are posting, and on July 1st, we’ll know the name the majority wants to be called. What do you think?

I was just discussing this with one of the moderators of our Livejournal page, The Mockingjay (She also made our awesome layout header, by the way!). FrowningHour aka Linda, imagines the main characters, Katniss, Peeta, and Gale (plus most of the other tributes) as adults. So, she would love Lyndsy Fonseca and Liam Hemsworth to be cast as Katniss/Peeta in the movie. Lyndsy is 24, and Liam is 21. She says that because fictional characters act much older than their age it will be easier to take them seriously as older actors. However, I have always imagined the characters as teenagers. From around 16 years old to 18 years old. I just think that since the characters in the book are 16, the actors playing them should at least be able to pass for that age. In many TV shows / movies today it works well to have older actors in younger roles, but many times (ex. Glee) the characters would never be able to pass for the age they are playing in real life. In this movie, I think it’s important to have real teens in these roles.
