Every week there's a relatively new release book available for reading for free from their site.
I read Let The Sky Fall a couple weeks ago and I tried to read Chantress last week, but I had too many books to read already before the deadline.
This week it's The Program by Suzanne Young.

Other Books / No Safety in Numbers
« Last post by GaleHawthorne on May 20, 2013, 10:51:16 PM »I was on Amazon tonight just looking at things like the second Quarantine book and I came across this book. It's written by Dayna Lorentz, and it's a bit like Gone and the previously mentioned Quarantine series. It is told from the perspective of 4 different kids trapped in a giant mall after they were quarantined because of a biological bomb that went off in an air duct. I haven't read a lot of the book yet, because I only had a preview to read, so I don't know much about it yet. Have any of you read this book? Does anyone have a longer preview, as in the 10-chapter previews like the ones for the Gone series? Thanks!

Queen is my all-time favorite band. I love the scene from "Wayne's World" where they're all singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the car.

Prim getting killed was stupid because there was no reason for a 14 y/o with little combat medic training to be there. The front line was 4 blocks behind and medics would have been behind that.

Katniss's state of mind is crucial to the story, since she's the protagonist, and the book is not just an action story where good guys shoot bad guys and everything turns out great. War is terrible and the experience of living through violence and having to commit it and the deaths and loss leaves people with traumas and mental scars.

That was the easiest but also the most pointless thing ever, since he was going to be executed anyway. She was able to do much more, to assassinate the new dictator who was in power, condemning herself to disgrace and, as she believed at the time, prison, torture or death.
