GATE Counselling 2019: GATE Selection Procedure For Admission

Counselling is the process of admission in the various programs which are conducted by the individual participating institutes. There is no common GATE Counselling 2019 for the qualifying candidates of the GATE exam. To get the admission in M.Tech programs through GATE 2019, candidates have to apply for individual Counselling conducted by participating institutes of GATE which are IITs, NITs, GFTIs, IISc Banglore etc.

IITs will conduct GATE 2019 Counselling through Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). Candidates have to register for the individual IIT for which they want to apply as well as on COAP also. It is mandatory to register in both places. If a candidate fails to do so his/her registration will be cancelled.

NITs, GFTIs and IIITs conduct the Counselling of GATE 2019 through Centralised Counselling for M.Tech (CCMT). The GATE Counselling 2019 will also be conducted by some states for the admission in M.Tech in their Government and private institutes. GATE Counselling/Selection Procedure

IITs Admission Procedure

IITs will conduct GATE Counselling through Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). Candidates have to register to COAP and respective IIT for the admission in the M.Tech program. The COAP will offer the admission on the basis of GATE Score. The registration for admission in IITs will start after the result declaration or before that.

NITs, IIITs & GFTIs Admission Procedure

NITs, IIITs & GFTIs will conduct the GATE Counselling through Centralised Counselling for M.Tech (CCMT) for the admission. The application forms for the admission in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs will be available for the candidates in the month of March/April. Candidates have to fill the choices of their colleges and courses in the application form.

IISc Bangalore Admission Procedure

The admission in IISc Bangalore will be conducted before the declaration of the GATE Result. The institute will release the application form for the candidates. The candidates have to fill their choices of courses according to their preferences.

State Universities Admission Procedure

The GATE Counselling for the State Universities will be conducted on different dates from March to July month. Some states release their application form before the result declaration and some releases after that.

Important Points Regarding GATE Counselling 2019

  • Candidates have to qualify the GATE Cutoff to be eligible for the GATE Counselling.
  • To participate in the Counselling, candidates have to fill the registration form or application form along with the Counselling fees.
  • There will be no common GATE Counselling for the qualified candidates of the exam.
  • In the Counselling process, candidates have to verify their documents.

GATE Score Card/All India Rank (AIR)

All the applicants are eagerly waiting for their GATE Result which will be announced by IIT Madras on 17th March 2019. The GATE 2019 result will be announced online and candidates can see their result through the link provided in this article. To check the result of GATE 2019, candidates have to log in through GOAPS (GATE Online Application Process System). Only those candidates can download the GATE Score Card 2019 who will qualify the exam. The GATE Result 2019 carries All India Rank (AIR) and total marks obtained by the candidate.

Candidates can Download the GATE Scorecard from 20th March onwards. The last date to download the GATE Score Card is 31st May. After the last date, candidates can download the scorecard by paying Rs. 500/- till 31st December 2019. The GATE Result is valid for 3 years from the date of its announcement.
